Notes from maintenance since previous post:

December 16 1430 -1500 km 9479

*Replace chain with SRAM PC870 (MEC sku 274337 $26)

*Replace 2 pair brake shoes

Front ones get cartridge system (MEC sku 94078 $7.00 - replacement sku 70310 $2.50)

Back pair same as before (MEC sku79312 $3.75)

Needed to add washers mounting stack to jive with basic V brake arms

*Tape front brake lever with white medical tape

Puncture!

To get most of OEM treads, put a tough liner inside old tyre.

Used 26x1.5 Vee brand v150 with wire bead removed and inserted a 26x1.5 inner tube into it.

Mounted inside the OEM Kenda Klaw XT to increase lifespan and puncture resistance.

Should be noted test course is mostly covered in ice operating in temps of -20c to 5c.

Find attached photographs of brake shoes in a before and after state. The one with the most wear came from the front.
