Experiment is on again!

To much delight the SC1800 has turned up again!

Turns out it must have been left at the commuter train station early Friday October 6. It was reported stolen on the evening of Monday October 9.It turned up again Wednesday October 11 and authorities were glad to hear there was a happy ending.

This means the order for the bottom bracket replacement part is back on.

This experiment is over

It was ineveitable really

The SC1800 has been stolen from the paddock round back of the home base, sometime between 9PM on Oct 5 and 9AM on October 8.

There will be no further updates until the budget can afford a new SC1800 and commuter kit.

Thanks for keeping up with this experiment,

DC

The rig is running mostly OK, except for the crunching sound coming from the bottom bracket bearings and a 'tick' noise at every rotation of the cranks.

On the bright side, the tyre air pressure is where it should be; around 45 PSI; and holding air well.

The plastic pedals are holding up surprisingly well and the headset is staying in adjustment, indicating that the head tube has been properly faced.

The bottom bracket area would do well with a cartridge bearing upgrade to eliminate the facing issue in that area of the frame.
