km 4100 - ish

Replaced rear wheel today. New wheel is signifcant upgrade with aluminium hub, stainless steel spokes and Alex 'DM18' rim. Cost was C$65 and about an hour of installation.


Old wheel had 8 broken spokes and signifcant wear on rear hub cones, effectively making it useless.

It almost becomes easier to acquire another 71-1556 and have a stockpile of used parts. On the other hand, it is a shame to contribute to an uncompostable, unrecycleable garbage pile.

Odometer is remains on the fritz as display screen in now completely unreadable.
