km 9815.8

Rig running right after adjusting front brake to reduce squeal in wet conditions. Put a reverse toe on the shoes so they kind of look 'duck footed' when view from rider's POV.

Already well through the first pair of front brake shoes after 50 km through melting snow and rain in 5C temperatures.
Since last post have applied another two coats of SAE20 oil to chain. Still hoping to get 10000km out of front tyre (pictured). One puncture to report, removed small shard of green glass and replaced tube at a cost of $5 plus 10 minutes' work. Kept old tube to be patched down the road.

Above are up to date pictures, including a clearer shot of the replaced brake shoes. Looking back, seems that rear brake shoes (the ones one the right) were installed in September 2006 at km2042 and the front brake shoes were last serviced in February 2008 at km5679. That's 4136km for the front shoes and 7773km for the rear shoes!
